a few recent flies
#1
As I do every six or so months, I feel compelled to downsize and stray from my comfort zone and do the thing I hate doing worse. So, in the foreground are a few flies, three Green Highlanders, a sorta Black Dog and something more like I like doing, bodies and one of those wings! The last fly was a little bit more enjoyable because I was unconstrained by "tradition/recipe".

Good on you Ronn. Dig the last one, kind of transitional between genres yet still Lucas. Good stuff.

Your creations are always inspiring Ronn. Your comfort zone has to be very large based upon the creativity of your work.

if you don't mind me saying so none of those flies look constrained.
I often wonder (with mateship) if in fact you could tie a fly to a stringent recipe.

love the slight anarchy,

Thanks guys. Shawn, the Green Highlander is about as a "classic" adhering to a recipe as I get. forgot the Mallard though.
