#1
does anyone own a copy?
I'm after some information with regard to the black argus...

question one:

is it even mentioned in it?

question two:

can you show me, please?

trying to find information on this fly is like pulling (a shark's) teeth.

thank you,
shawn

Try the following Shawn www.moscofilia.com/black-argus-english.html

You will find info on the pattern and a step by step of the tying of the fly.

Good luck!!!

yes, mate! one would think you could find it in the seppo archives... no such luck.

back story:

I'll have two flies to mount; one is complete (black argus), the other (chatterer) in the planning process with all materials acquired.
I have 5x7 glossy prints of the cotinga and western trag.
I want to include a quote from kelson with regard to each fly, for the chatterer I have:

"The fly that we illustrate this week, with its beautiful blue body, is one of the most useful, one of the most expensive, and one of the most difficult to dress – indeed, a trophy which should specially attract our attention, and raise us into action in our wakeful study.”

-geo blah blah 9 aug ‘84

therefore I was looking for something equally as pompous as the above... but it looks like he came a little bit to his senses three years later.

he really referred to the western tragopan as black argus feathers???
the great argus is an entirely different bird... although a pheasant, true.

so many lies in fly fishing.

cheers very much,
and any further snarky quotes very welcome, (but not my own)

“And raise us into action...

Somnambulant me.
