Morning sun pattern
#1
When the sun dawns brightly on clear water, there's a time when it's angle allows the light to penetrate the water only a foot or two.  In early September, @ 7:15AM you are already fishing with sunglasses.  That's a good time to toss this in and fish it like there's too much Red Bull in your system.  Not for slow swinging.

After sleuthing why the champagne bubbles in the head ?  I think it came about after applying thinner to the lacquer (after using it on the butts) and using it too early for the head.  The wing is a mix of squirrel and McLain tip dyed hackle.  This is a good, adaptable, and inexpensive design for tiers at many levels.

You always brighten my day when I see your work Dave...and this fly is no exception. The colors have autumn written all over this pattern.....

You could make the argument that this is an egg pattern. Lovely fly with a champagne head!!!
Happy Trails!
